I graduated Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. I spent half a dozen years working in nonprofits, consulting firms, and major finance companies.
These days I’m based in Atlanta, GA.
I do WordPress and web application development.
I’m skilled with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Teradata, SQL Server), Hadoop/Hive/Presto, SAS, Python, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, and a handful of other programming languages and applications. In my spare time, I dabble with Scala, Clojure, and Apache Spark.
If you need some help making sense of your data, I do provide consulting through Clarity.
Whatever work I’m doing, I try to follow a few simple rules…
- Be honest. If I’m not the right guy for the job, I’ll tell you that. Sometimes I am. But sometimes I’m not. And I’d rather just tell you upfront than waste your time, or mine.
- Be available. I provide the same level of customer support that I expect from others. I actually give a damn about my customers and I sleep better knowing that they’re happy with what they’re getting. I’m the type of web developer who actually answers the phone and treats your website as if it’s important for your business as mine is for mine.
- Stay on time and under budget. I don’t like bad surprises and I do everything I can to avoid giving my clients any.
When I’m not working, I usually read and play with my dogs Karma and Kazi. They’re cuter than me, and also more interesting. They don’t do web development or analytics. But they are very clever (and get into lots of trouble sometimes because they know it!)
